PROGRAM COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

Following the philosophy of ‘Doing good while doing well’ by James LeVoy Sorenson, Tumpeyo has been bringing small systematic changes in communities, organizations & brands she has been collaborating with. She has been in Social Impact & Strategic Communication for 12+ years, with essential expertise in Communication for Development, Reputation Management, Brand Positioning, Stakeholder Management, Impact Investment & Fundraising.

Tumpeyo has been driving collaborations with government-funded programs, government agencies, and different Ministries of Kenya, with rich hands-on experience leading different teams, including Communication, Partnership & Resource Mobilization.

In her current role as a Communication Specialist for Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Program (Government of Kenya, World Bank supported), she is tapping into her passion for bringing behavioral change & development through strategic communication implementation to generate public interest in the program activities, build capacity for program partners, maintain global alliances & linkages.

In her past roles with different social development funds, Tumpeyo has made significant contributions, including getting 5+ billion KES. worth projects approved, mapping out 200+ donors, including signing MoUs with strategic partners & event management, donor database management as well as presenting funding proposals.

She has been striving to upskill herself by being a part of various programs, including ‘MA Program – Mass Communication’ with Liverpool John MooresUniversity; ‘Resource Mobilization & Grants Management’ Program by Amref Health Africa & ‘Crisis Communication’ course by Public Relations Society of Kenya.

Tumpeyo is constantly driven by the stories of women back home (Maasai tribe) & is supporting her community’s endeavor & Social Enterprise ‘Beads for Charity, which empowers women of her tribe by marketing their beadwork to various markets – helping not just these women have a fair chance to earn a healthy standard of living & become financially independent but also showcasing their heritage art & culture to the world. She is also volunteering for Gender Empowerment with Ilkimpa Community Conservation Association (ICCA) to facilitate multi-stakeholder forums – fostering funding, capacity building & community empowerment.


Tumpeyo is working towards her vision “to make money while making the world a better place”.
